I may be missing over the next several weeks due to high heat in Nevada. When the temp is over 85F my computers overheat and must be shut down to prevent them from melting down.

Eric Lindell's new album "Gulf Coast Highway" will be released on March 24th 2009. Look for it at your favorite music stores, and be sure to listen to DJ JITAR's preview of the album on his show this Saturday March 21st.

Gulf Coast Highway sees Eric unleash a set of soul infused, roots music anthems in the tradition of Van Morrison and Delbert McClinton. It's full of punchy guitar fueled R&B rave-ups and heartfelt ballads; as well as some honky-tonk spice.

New feature on The AnJ DShow

Join us this Wednesday, March 11, 2009 when we introduce our new feature ... That Was The Year That Was. During the second hour of our show we will be taking a look at a past year in our generation's history. We will start with 1965, its music, its fact, its figures, its fun.

We will choose other years, a different one each show in coming weeks. If you wish us to cover a particular year, drop me a line. The Voice in the Dark

Back before TV radio was a family and friend gathering place. Now, with so much entertainment available radio has to stand out. Many Internet stations have decided to become Ipods you can't easily carry. Personally, I'd rather carry tunes easily (and can), so why would I want to listen to radio on the internet? It's the voice in the dark. Personality is what makes the difference for many. Our Generation Radio [OGR]has great music and when our automated DJ spins tunes it is from a huge library of songs that span the decades from the 1950's through last week. But when our live DJs take over is when OGR comes to life. Imagine reading email, surfing the web or participating in message boards and chat rooms while listening to..... Entertainment! Real people really trying to entertain. Even better if others are listening too, so make sure you tell your friends!

Special Preview of new SAFFIRE Album on 24th of January with DJ Jitar

On January 27th, SAFFIRE - The Uppity Blues Women will be releasing a new album entitled "Havin the Last Word."

Join me, DJ Jitar for a special sneak preview of the album on Saturday the 24th.

Sadly, this will be SAFFIRE's last album. After 25 years of being one of the most entertaining and successful accoustic blues groups, the girls have decided to go their seperate ways. (The group will be doing one last "farewell" tour beginning in March 2009 that will bring their sassy, bawdy live show to audiances across the USA.

Although Ann, Gaye and Andrea are far from ready to hang up their instruments: Each is planning to continue to perform (and hopefully record) as individual artists.

Sometimes it's not just talk, talk, talk!

ArJohn here. I just wanted to take a minute to toot my own horn. Working at OGR, we are surrounded by talented, funny and skilled people. I would imagine many of you may realize we have musicians as well as professional radio personalities and unbelievably knowledgeable computer techs, that keep Our Generation Radio ticking, here at the station. Other than flapping my jaws, I usually don't fit into that bunch. Some of you may know that I am also an author and while I have only one work published so far, I hope to continue and make that number grow.
Late in 2008 I was contacted to add information to my (new to me) listing as an Illinois Author. I am now listed, through the Secretary of State as State Librarian, with such well know Authors from Illinois as; Edgar Rice Burroughs, William Jennings Bryan and many, many more. I received an email yesterday welcoming me and inviting me to add whatever information I may want and to make sure they keep my listing updated.
